The Air Force utterly lacks the capacity to move 320,000 people in less than a couple of months. And then only if their transports had nothing else to do worldwide for those same couple of months.
The US airline industry could move 320,000 people easily in a day, just like they do every day. But an awful lot more civilian airport and airline people would know all about these charter flights full of English-challenged Latinos with shopping bags as their luggage.
And a lot of US travelers would be inconvenienced and making plenty of newsworthy noise when their ordinary flight from here to there was cancelled to free up capacity for the mighty taxpayer funded alien invasion.
I think Mythbusters would rate this one as BUSTED!!
Sure, sure. But what about the secret teleportation devices that were found on the spaceships in Area 51? Huh? What about that, smart guy? That’s proof positive that the Air Force can EASILY transport hundreds of thousands of people in a matter of HOURS!
I’d just be hella disappointed they the USAF reserves that type of technology for bamph’ing undocumented immigrants into places the immigrants don’t want to be and the places aren’t well equipped to handle, rather than implementing teleportation global strike capabilities. No more dangerous overflying hostile targets in airplanes to drop bombs on them. Just teleport the bomb to the target. No muss, no fuss, no danger to our troops, no warning for our enemies.
Or if they don’t want to take it that far, maybe use that capability to move troops and equipment. 20-hour flights and weeks-long cargo ship travel should become a thing of the past.
I guess the evul overlords reserve the very best technology for their evul purposes.
For the record, the origin of alleged involvement of the USAF and this being done in a single day is from posters in this thread, not the report that Collin Rugg twits about and Elmo comments on. Some quick Googling finds the report
And the source of the report, an unimpeachable font of truth:
Hmm… sorry, I meant “The Center for Immigration Studies has been criticized for publishing a number of reports deemed to be false or misleading and using poor methodology by scholars on immigration.” Oh, and has been labeled a hate group by the SPLC and was founded by a man by the name of John Tanton who
is a retired Michigan ophthalmologist who opposed immigration on racial grounds, desired a white ethnic majority in the United States and advocated for eugenics.
I can’t imagine what Tanton and Elmo, savior of the white race from the Great Replacement might have in common.
I’m trying to think of ways that “poor methodology” results in conclusions like this, unless “outright lying” counts. Actually, maybe I just answered my own question.
I’m also amused by the cognitive dissonance that allows lines like “The Parole program allows for two-year periods of legal status during which adults are eligible for work authorization” to be side-by-side with “at least 320,000 illegal immigrants were allowed to fly into the U.S.” What part of “legal status” was unclear?
The Air Force pilots won’t let them steal their glory. Same reason they didn’t allow dogs and monkeys to land on the moon, even though dogs are way better at it than people.
The pilots would “drive” the teleportation system. That’s what they do with drones, after all.
Besides, a launch officer in an ICBM control capsule probably doesn’t care if turning the launch key lights off a hella big rocket a couple of miles away or just powers up a teleporter.
Is there a point where we should be concerned that this very wealthy man has tweeted that President Biden is guilty of treason? I mean, doesn’t he have a lot of government contracts and stuff?
I’m getting a bad case of the heebie jeebies with Elon giving trump all the money he needs.
It’s good to be rich in this world. No wonder people steal to get that way.
On the other hand, he’s smarter than Trump (admittedly a low bar) and given his flirtations with Ramaswamy he probably realizes Trump would be bad for the country and his business, and it’s not like he needs to kiss Trump’s ring - if anything, it’s the other way around.
My money’s on him eventually endorsing RFK Jr or whatever nutbag is running on the Libertarian ticket this year.
So far he hasn’t donated any political money since 2020. There’s typically a delay in FEC data being posted, but I’d say for now he’s actually telling the truth.
If you believe that Musk talks his book, there are good reasons to cuddle up to right wing opinion leaders, to avoid EV autos being absorbed into the culture war. Doubly so, when your EVs are at the luxury end of the market.
But funding one Presidential candidate or another in a big way would be a bridge too far. Talk is cheap, tweets are cheap.
The thing is, if a guy like Musk really wanted to help a candidate or PAC, he could run a private fundraiser with his techno bros and not have to personally contribute a penny.
