Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

Yeah, I cannot see that convincing advertisers that have left to come back, and my drive even more away.

And if I were a woman, I would be more than reticent of working in an environment where that type of imagery is tolerated, much less promoted by my boss. Is this a frat house or something, or are we 13-year-old boys? (Don’t answer that.)

Someone suggested he may have been on drugs at the time, and I wouldn’t doubt it. At any rate, Musk strikes me as a Jordan Belfort type of character, when Belfort was at his drug-addled worst. Musk has been justifiably excused because he really has produced valuable results for the world, or at least had his name linked with valuable results, but the momentum of reputation can only carry you so far.

Well, I did write “was he high?” when I forwarded it to a friend after ascertaining its veracity, but Musk hasn’t taken it down. It does seem like a “drunk post” I might make when all my filters had been turned off, but who knows. He does very much have the vibe of “look at me! I’m such a rebel” and “I don’t care for this sanitized corporate speak; I’m such an iconoclast.” I was like that once too (minus the billions of dollars). That was freshman year college.

Elon has now fired most of the rest of the sales team and unbanned Marjorie Taylor Greene.

It’s starting to look like he wants to just turn Twitter into 2008 4chan.

μchan?

μ being short for “Musk”, of course.

Best case scenario: Musk takes over Fox News next.

Yep, that’s what I got.

Manara, meanwhile on his own socials commented (translated from Italian by FB) :

I wish Elon Musk would be forced to tweet a thousand times:

“I will never use Milo Manara drawings again without permission. I will never again use Milo Manara’s drawings without permission. I will never again use…”

How about I sue him, asking for $44Bn in compensation? Then I could buy back Twitter and give it back to someone else to manage!

And he did his own redraft of the image, with the monk labeled “Manara’s lawyers” and the lady’s, erm, privacy cover replaced by Musk’s face and the phrase “Elon Musk double billions of dogecoin”.

He does have a point that came to my mind when I first saw that, I mean, that is not a public domain image. But it does represent of course the whole lack of respect for what others have to say that is, as I said in my earlier post, “on brand”.

That would be great. He can sink that into the ground too.

Elon has personally lost $8.6 billion today and has lost $100 billion since the beginning of the year.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-11-21/elon-musk-s-2022-wealth-loss-exceeds-100-billion-for-first-time

Imagine being the richest man in the world and yet being so absolutely incompetent that you destroy more of your own wealth in a single day than almost every human being who has ever lived or ever will live will ever have possessed over the course of their entire lives.

I mean, a large part of that is just that Tesla stock was ludicrously overpriced and now is slightly less ludicrously overpriced.

And perhaps that revaluation wouldn’t be happening if he wasn’t showing the entire world that he has the impulse control and emotional maturity of a horny 13-year-old.

Exactly. There are multiple reasons why Tesla shareholders keep suing him and have grounds to continue doing so.

This a known issue. Tesla and Spacex are rampant with sexual harassment and discrimination, and racism too.

Here’s a really good, non-paywalled WSJ article about Twitter’s finances. Some of the recent employee growth surprised me, both in terms of FTE and $, and I can see why Musk might imagine some bloat. Still, it all feels doomed if he can’t con(vince) more investors.

Is there any way to know how many current owners of Tesla stock bought it at below the current price and how many bought it at a higher price? Just curious

Sure, this seems bad, but suranyi is still getting real-time concert ticket updates, so that seems like a fair trade-off.

Pretty sure the two are independent of each other, with only one being causal with the change in ownership.

Did I say I liked or approved of Elon Musk’s actions? No, I did not, and I do not.

Sorry, I should have put the ol’ winky on there
