You mean nadir?
The US has been going downhill since it mothballed the Apollo program and people started selling one another rocks as pets.
I tested positive for Covid this morning. I’m not feeling great, but my fever is just 100.2 and I don’t think I’m imagining this Elon goat fire-farting statue.
I’m hard pressed to find a better explanation, though. How on earth is that thing for real? I might just barely believe it if it was built by people having a laugh at Musk’s expense. But his FANS build it?
Please tell me I’m being whooshed.
I can’t tell you that. But don’t be surprised if one of his fans comes along to explain why it’s a great thing, totally normal, and you’re just being a hater if you can’t see that.
I mean, whom of us has not been fêted with a giant goat-sphinx with our visage humping a rocket? It certainly beats the John Cusack hoisting a boombox blasting “In Your Eyes”, and besides, Peter Gabriel has a reputation for being extremely litigious when it comes to unauthorized use of his music to celebrate unmitigated stupidity.

He still has fans? Didn’t the complete fiasco that he’s made of the Twitter takeover cause all of his fans to wake up to his non-brilliance?
(At this point, he’s competing with Kanye West to see who is crazier.)
Several of them on this very board, from what I’ve seen in the various Musk/Twitter threads here in recent weeks.

Just because I called you out on not reading your own cites doesn’t make me a Musk fan. There are plenty of reasons to not like the guy without spreading mistruths.
No more than happens with other cults of personality. People want to believe.
Irony is dead.
A cult of personality indeed:
Although for Elon GOAT Token “times have not been good,” co-founder Ashley Sansalone said Saturday in a Twitter audio stream, the company had earmarked enough money to complete the statue project.
“We believe that Elon’s potential acceptance of this biblical sized gift could catapult $EGT into the limelight and accelerate its various initiatives,” the company said on its website.

Someone just read God Emperor of Dune and thought Leto II was supposed to be the good guy.
As I have mentioned here before, I sometimes lurk and read the Breitbart comments. And let me tell you, that place is still as FULL ELON as ever. Anything said that’s negative about Elon is taken as a personal attack.
I used to think that psychopaths were the most dangerous breed of humanity.
I’ve now concluded it’s instead the worship-the-strongman types we should be most worried about.
No, but your many posts praising and defending Musk certainly suggest you are a Musk fan. Especially when you reply to posts seemingly completely unaware of Musk’s numerous failings (beyond the personal, which are legion).
As Pterry said, the gretest design flaw in humanity is the tendency to bend at the knees.
This was a doctored screenshot; Musk did not reply to “@superhitler1488” (as can be seen by reading the thread you linked as a cite - the explanation is German but the original screenshot is provided). Here is a direct link to the original.
There are lots of fakes floating around right now. It’s important to get this right, because right-wing chuds love nothing more than seeing their opponents fall for obvious hoaxes. The embarrassment is obviously part of that, but it also serves their larger goal of undermining the idea of truth itself.
How can they possibly be a fake if they paid him $8? He gets to KEEP that if he bans them, you know.
