Careful now, Elmo may actually running some of those scams.
Those stories are horrifying.
Everything in the RW media sphere these days seems to be a scam. What this says about the audience for these outlets is…unsurprising.
The number of people in those complaints who were already involved in cryptocurrency is, I guess, unsurprising…getting rich quickly seems to be a common theme, plus some real mental vulnerability.
I have lost over 50,000 with this individual and am concerned for my safety. I am still in touch with him and he does not know I am reporting this fraud. I have been scammed by another crypto individual online involving ethereum and lost over 30,000. Elon wanted to help me recoup from that as well as that case overlapped timeframes with this one.
Even if Elon is not involved in the scams, he’s not exactly up there teaching critical thinking, and has engaged in lots of deceptive practices in this campaign.
MAGA is like a virus that needs to weaken people’s immune systems, and as a consequence they get secondary infections.
Saw this gem on the Reddit cryptoscams sub just yesterday.
Has anyone heard of Tim Hockey? Supposedly he does the investments for Elon Musk. Elon connected me with Tim to turn my crypto into an investment… Anyone? I have him on a chat right now and he wants to process real fast. Every move he tells me to do he wants a screenshot to advise me what to do.
What cracked me ( and everyone else) up was the “Elon connected me with”…Dude, Elon’s real busy destroying democracy, he doesn’t have time to network with internet randos.
There are literally hundreds of stories like this on the scam subreddits, and 90% of them involve a WhatsApp or Telegram group, “trading signals” and a male professor with a female assistant. Elon is by far the biggest celebrity name the scammers use….probably because Elon fanboys are so gullible.
Are these boneheads an inexhaustible source of cash? I mean, between these scams, the Trump scams, religious send me money scams and gold scams, they have to run out sometime, right? I guess though that more suckers are created every minute (tip o the hat to P. T. Barnum)

I have to ask - just how effective a campaign tactic is a bunch of miserable, demoralized door knockers? Especially as they’re incentivized to spend as little time as possible with potential voters.
And there have been stories about people fixing the app to give false data about how many doors you’re hitting.
To be fair, the “fly in people to go door to door and gouge them of every cent they make” scam is not new, nor limited to politics, nor exploiting only black people. They even had a ripped from the headlines L&O episode about it in the 00’s.
But Eloon is still scum.
