Now THAT'S what a Superbowl should be!

I don’t think that the first half was poorly played at all, except for the fact that the Titans couldn’t move the ball on offense. We got to see the Rams move the ball down the field, and we got to see the Titans D stand tall time and time again in the red zone. And then I saw some of the most inspired play I’ve seen in years from the Titans in the second half. After they kicked the FG to tie up the game, ABC showed Jevon Kearse getting psyched up to go back out on the field, and I said to myself “Oh boy, I can’t wait to see what this animal is going to do…” And if you watch the replay on the Rams TD, he whallops Warner good about a quarter second after Kurt got rid of the ball. Extremely close…
I don’t know if I would have liked to see it go to OT, though…the Sopranos were coming on…

“The Celebrity Deathmatch marathon was cool though.”

Damn! I missed a Celebrity Deathmatch marathon!

Anybody care to comment on C-SPAN’s “Booknotes” show of 1/30/2000, which aired (cabled?) at 8PM EST? That Brian Lamb is a hoot, I tell you. It sure beat the haltime show, that’s for sure

The game itself was very interesting for a change. My WAG is that Super Bowls are much better when they only allow 1 week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl. Cite - 1991, when the poor Bills lost to the Giants on the last play, and 1983, when the Redskins’ Riggins’ 4th quarter run blew open what had been a tight ballgame.

I’ll have to agree that the first half was dull and the last half was better and that was an AWESOME ending!

But now this means that weekend TV will really, really suck till April when baseball starts again. I don’t like either basketball or hockey because they’re played indoors on tiny arenas (I’m a bit claustrophobic). Give me LARGE arenas and blue skies and real grass. (And yes, this does mean I don’t like domed stadiums or artificial turf.)
