Now This Is Bullshit!

I just read an article in the newspaper that was talking about a guy who was flying from Sea-Tac airport in Seattle to San Diego. While in Seattle this guy picked up some anti-war signs and had them in his luggage when he was flying to San Diego. When he opened his suitcase in San Diego there was a formal note among his things from the Transportation Security Administration that said his bag had been searched. On the note was a handwritten message that said “Don’t appreciate your anti-American attitude!”
According to the article the TSA is looking into the incident but is denying responibility for the incident. You can read this article here:

Now what the fuck is wrong with the TSA employee that wrote this message?! What a fuckin’ moron! Is it anti-American to carry anti-war signs around in your luggage? I don’t think so. It’s not like he had the signs stapled to his forehead where everyone would see it. I hope they find out who wrote the message and smack him upside the head. Or better yet maybe this guy will come to his senses and smack himself upside the head!

:smack:

I doubt it. You’re dealing with self-appointed guardians of the American way here.

This reminds me of the story that broke not too long after 9/11, where the FBI searched the house of a Muslim family, and one genius scrawled something like “Death to Allah” on the fridge.

Man, this melting pot is getting less and less spicy these days. America: the great bowl of oatmeal.

when my brother and my son came back thru Detroit from China, all their bags were searched. My brother was told he couldn’t help them re-pack; THIS was his own fucking stuff which he packed so precisely!!

AND when they got to Memphis some of their stuff was missing.

stupid gorrilla bag-checkers !!!

My bag was searched on my way back from the east coast last week. They opened up a bottle of Old Spice (my GF likes it. Go figure) and put it back. Without the cap. My bag reeked.

The TSA is the most useless organization around.

Wait, you mean to tell me that a Federal Agency is made up of stupid, pathetic dumbasses who couldn’t possibly hold a job in the real world? You don’t say!

I’ll still take the TSA over the private companies. While I was given crap by Algenbright, I’ve had nothing but professionallism from the TSA.

Strange, innit? I thought democracy and freedom of speech most represented the American Way[sup]tm[/sup].

Fuck the writer of that offensive, regime-of-fear style note, and good luck to you honest merkins trying to live and act by your own consciences, whether that’s pro war or anti war.

This is why the last time I flew, I forced everything in a carry on bag and my briefcase.

jinwicked, weren’t you the one with issues the last time you flew and they found your leash and collar?
IIRC then I can see why you made everything carry on this time.

All it takes it one jerk to do this. If they find out who did it, they’ll fire him. And yet people in this thread are condeming the whole organization. An isolated incident does not imply widespread behavior.

Did you see the Pentagon staff emergency training last night (the one about the gas masks?) OMG OUR COUNTRY IS DOOMED!!!

They showed about 5-10 minutes of some genius trying to put his emergency gas mask in a bag GROAN!
