While watching my local news I was truly amazed at some ding dong that had the nerve to call in about the medical use of marijuana for terminally ill people.
Basically the jist of his response is that he is against it because of the smoking thing. That allowing a patient to smoke marijuana will cause severe damage to the patient’s lungs.
Well “DUH” dumb ass, the patient is already going to die so any cell damage done by smoking pot (much less than cigarette smoking) isn’t going to harm the patient any more than the cancer will. But I do believe that being able to keep food down and live the remainder of their lives as strong as possible is more important than the few effects that smoking a joint or two a day will do to their lungs. Oh and the wrong assumption that marijuana is a terrible evil, sheesh alcohol’s effects are worse than smoking pot.
It takes years, in most instances, for smoking to take it’s toll on the person…if we can give people a life that results in less pain and more control then why the hell don’t we just let people smoke the KGB?
That was clearly a stupid ass comment as the person has no idea what cancer patients go through. My mother could have used it and she may have survived a few weeks or months longer.

I know Lamar…I want to move back to Denver but don’t have the bucks to move back. It has become incredibly expensive to live up in that area plus my main client is down here.
It’s a shame what’s happened to the Springs. It is a beautiful town. Forgive me for being presumptuous, but from what I understand, you don’t belong there. It’s about habitat. You can’t grow an orchid in the desert…

C Springs has always been conservative, always. It became more so since FOTF and other religious orgs came in.
In fact they held a mass “prayer” at Focus, according to the newspaper, on Friday because Satan is invading their organization and two of their leaders have fallen. Whatever! If the newpaper feels this is big news then we are screwed.
The funny thing is the newspaper is very conservative and is owned by “Freedom Communications”…my ass LOL.
Oh and the comment from the OP was also on the station that has James Dobson’s 5 minute bullshit session every weekday during the Today Show.

As to the OP, I do wonder what these people are thinking? Why is it OK for people to get morphine or codiene when they’re in a hospital, but a much less addictive substance when they’re at home, in a comfortable situation, with family by their side?
