NRA and HCI Question

Ok, before the mods have a heart attack about this being in GQ, let me state outright that I am ONLY looking for factual information.
What I want to know is how I find out where they both get their money from.

I am looking for information on dollars donated by individuals VS. money donated from corporations and other organizations.
I am not looking for a critique of their practices, honesty or history.
I’m giving this thread a 70% chance of staying in GQ.

I give it a considerably higher chance than that, since JillGat and I will be seeing to it that it stays GQ. You asked a factual question, and it won’t be your fault if people try to hijack the thread, so we’ll do what’s necessary to give you your due.

That said, you could have picked a slightly less alarming topic line… Fortunately, I have a strong cardiovascular system.

So this has nothing to do with dissolving Charlton Heston in Hydrochloric acid ? This board really needs to start using a serif font for their thread titles !

The NRA has about 4 million members, give or take a few. The annual membership fee is $35. That’s $140 million per year just in dues. Then there is extra money members give every now and then. That’s where their money comes from.
HCI is different. They sold their eternal souls to Satan, and he advises them of certain investments to make(Microsoft, etc). They use the proceeds of those investments to rob law abiding Americans of their birthrights.

Actually Microsoft is a corporate donor to the NRA (via an employee-contributions matching program).

Not surprisingly, the NRA’s corporate donors include a number of gun and ammunition manufacturers. I didn’t find any breakdown of how much the NRA gets from corporate donors vs. individual members. A quick perusal of the website for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (as Handgun Control, Inc., is now known) showed a claimed membership of 500,000 (I don’t know what their annual dues are), plus “millions of supporters”; I didn’t see anything listing corporate donors, but I didn’t make that thorough a search.

Microsoft was only an example. I have no idea where the Devil advises his minions to invest.:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not looking for fluff filled propaganda from either side, I’m looking for the hard numbers. I know the NRA has to make some extra cash from advertisers in it’s monthly magazines, and occasionaly they are selling stuff along with their solicitations for extra cash.

I have absolutely no idea how HCI gets any money except through donations.

I was hoping that there would be a standard form somewhere that had all this information. Don’t organizations like this have to file a a tax form that the public has access to?

I’m just giving this one last shot before it fades away…
