The latest news adds even more confirmation. And i agree that what’s happening over there is far more important than what people type on a computer.
But, given how bad it is, and how bad it has been, it seems rather unbecoming of you to lie about it three weeks ago. Why not talk about what is actually happening, rather than your lies and distortions about what is happening.

There is a fundamental difference between being skeptical of self-interested parties, on the one hand, and lying outright about what they say, on the other.
Here are two possible positions on this issue:
Position 1
“I think that the authorities in Japan have been bad about releasing information, and i think that they are downplaying the extent of the problem in order to cover their own asses and serve their own financial interests.”
Position 2
“The authorities have declared Fukushima a Level 7 event.” [when the authorities had done no such thing]
Do you understand the difference between these two positions? Do you understand that the first, whether correct or incorrect, is a reasonable inference based on developments at the site and broader concerns about political responsibility, while the second is simply an outright lie? Do you think that the difference is important?
CNN actually has a story on the setting of the level to 7 here. It’s got some interesting info in it. Such as this:

And that would put it to a level 7. Unlike with FXM, declaring even a provisional level 7 actually requires data, not an out of your ass and baseless assessment stemming from fear and ignorance. Each level is 10 times greater than the level before…so, re-assessing the data available now, if they think that the radiation released is 10% of Chernobyl that would put it at a level 7 (for radioactive iodine anyway).

But there was a time in the past where they had not rated it a 7. Although they should have. There was a time when they were not disclosing the truth about their disaster on a scale of 1 to 7 (which is called concealment in the legal profession). They are now, a month later, finally admitting that it is a complete clusterfuck.
It kinda reminds me of a time long ago, in a land of bullshit presided over by a CREEP when they described their lies as a “modified limited hang out.” As long as the executives aren’t “left twisting in the wind” and still get their bonuses.
Remember, fucking up four nuclear reactors means never having to say you’re sorry.
BBC is reporting the authorities are emphasizing this is not because of something new that has happened, but rather their assessment of the situation from the beginning, now that they’ve had time to analyze all the data and take stock of the situation, they now are provisionally giving it a 7 rating and want the public to know about it as soon as they’ve made this decision. If they were trying to cover something up, I doubt they’d be taking pains to do this.
Considering that some people still believe TMI wasn’t a big deal, the level of denial on this is understandable.
Frankly I’m very upset over the suffering that is surely being experienced by so many Japanese these days. I’m going to send them some real cash. I’m stone cold sober serious about that.
That said, I want to clarify my radiation per cubic parsec model. If you imagine a way cubes can stack, such that the corners of eight discrete cubes can meet at one point, well I place that point at the center of the Earth, such that the radiation levels may be more conservatively measured. We don’t want to throw red meat to the alarmists after all.
But the level of stupidity coming from you is really hard to believe. How do you keep your heart beating and lungs working with the brain capacity of pocket lint?
