Holy shit, when are their funerals?
If only there was a way to measure radioactivity!
I clicked and I don’t see that Hiroshi Nakamura quote in the article.
Mr. Nakamura had to leave in the middle of the quote so that he could go reorganize the police services.
I hope everybody realizes the following:
a) the authorities are reacting seriously and (to this observer) effectively to protect the people in the surrounding areas, including measuring radiation levels, testing and caring for those who may have been exposed to radiation and communicating their actions and the possible dangers to the affected people and the world press;
b) no one of any authority who’s been interviewed has been dismissive of the dangers; and
c) no one with any experience in nuclear power or emergency management who has posted to this thread has been exactly cavalier about what’s happening.
Now they have to die? Keep moving those goal posts.
Would it be wrong to encourage people to take lizards, turtles and moths as close to the site as possible?
levdrakon, you’ve exhausted any novelty value you thought you had.
Making up stupid quotes is a silly thing to do, especially given that your previous points have been indistinguishable from pitiful parody anyway. Never was a
more lacking.
Are you going to engage in an honest debate here? if not I recommend you let the big boys play.
Bulletin: nuclear meltdown is underway. That is according to the Japanese official.
Oh oh…
He was killed by Hans Gruber.
But a bigger one already started on the internet.
Debate what? Is this a Japan earthquake nuclear power plant core overheating denier thread?
No, but some seem to be pushing it toward a nuclear power is the unsafest activity EVAR thread…
Cite? I’m not seeing it anywhere except one reporter claiming he knows the explosion was caused by a meltdown. No official releases I could find.
By the way, the quote itself is the link in the above post. Or just click here.
Note that it does say "may be’ underway, and not “is definitely” under way, but “may be” is a fair bit worse than “isn’t”.
Inside the article, the headline is actually “We see the possibility of a meltdown” which is something we already know.
It’s always a great idea to start promoting how safe something is, while the something you are promoting as safe is being fought tooth and nail to prevent it from melting down, and it is causing mass evacuations, worldwide concern, and a possible nuclear disaster. This shows everyone how concerned you are for safety, and reassures anyone who might be thinking, “Hey, that nuclear power plant thing can be dangerous”.
If they aren’t convinced of how safe it is, call them stupid, or point out how dangerous other stuff is. By no means should you discuss what is actually happening.
