Nudists, "Sun Worshipers", and basal cells?

Struck my news on Clinton’s excised skin cancer. Pointing out that exposure to the sun is a risk factor, especially for people with fair complexions.

Thought about nudist mags from a sniggering childhood. All that sunshine, all that volleyball, all that skin.

Are nudists dropping dead from skin cancer? Is that what happened to them?

Only a very small percentage of people who get skin cancer die from it. Most skin cancer is basal cell carcinoma which is not aggressive.

Most skin cancers are in areas that get a lot of sun exposure such as the face, neck, back, arms and upper chests of both men and women and the lower legs of women. I’m sure most skin cancers in nudists occur in the same places. It would only be a very dedicated nudist in a very warm climate who managed to get enough sun exposure on his clothing optional parts to match the sun exposure that the average person gets on his face, neck, back, arms, etc.

So the answers to your question are:

I don’t know and I don’t think anyone does for sure.

I very much doubt it.
