Yep. Just turned it on, and it’s back. Will Opie and Anthony be there Tuesday AM? Don’t know. But it’s not just a weekend thing, they flipped format. Woo.
Ah, I remember K-Rock. This news almost makes me want to start listening to the radio again. (Almost.)
Opie and Anthony appear to be the only talk hosts that kept their jobs, amusingly.
Which means I still won’t ever listen to K-Rock in the morning.
FYI, the change occurred Wednesday or Thursday afternoon.
Hah, I knew the all-talk format would never work. I was probably one of many that stopped listening altogether and even took them out of my programmed buttons.
I guess I’ll try listening again and see how it is. If I hear a Rush song, they’re out again.
I just requested a Rush lunch block for tomorrow to help showcase their new album.
Skewing slightly newer than CBS-FM. Some new-new stuff, mostly 90s-00s, some Metallica, and probably some Sabbath. I heard either Zep or Rush, I forget which.
They did not fully staff the station yet. The music lineup over the weekend was very limited. I heard the same song several times. Not in a top forty way. Once they start getting jocks in there playlist will get bigger. The list will still come from The Man but hopefully it will be a bit better.
I still would rather have the all talk format. I already have CDs and an MP3 player. It’s nice to have a change of pace on the radio. That and Ron & Fez need to be on New York radio.
ETA: I have not heard the station today (Tuesday). They were supposed to get some on air people starting today but I am not sure if it will be the actual lineup. The station was under robot control over the weekend.
Damn, I thought I got back another classic rock station, so it is just back to the post-classic rock K-Rock format?
I get my talk radio on AM where it belongs. Get off my FM airwaves you kids.
Jim
To be fair, it’s not that I don’t like Rush. It’s just that they are to me the very definition of “classic rock” (along with Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin), and I’m still bitter about Q104.3 switching to classic rock format about 9 or 10 years ago.
One thing that sets them apart from classic rock. They are still putting out new music. Just released a new one a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah I realized that after I posted… actually I was responding to a post that even said that and it still didn’t sink in. :smack:
I dunno. According to that, the Stones aren’t classic rock, and neither is Clapton.
Let’s see. Ride home yesterday: New Linkin Park (Sounded like Linkin Park. Exactly like it. Yep. Bout all I can say) some indie, including something with a really nice driving bass line that I can now not remember the words of, but if I could, I’d buy it, some Floyd, and some AC/DC.
It’ll do, pig.
