NY AG Letitia James drops the (civil) hammer {On Trump & Family} [9/21/2022]

I went, 16x7 is 8x14 is 4x28 is 2x56= 112.

cat videos? if i remember properly eric was in the building part of the operation. so walking around job sites, pestering people trying to work?

Nevermind

You know, pouring the concrete at all those job sites for an organization that has not had a construction project since 2008.

All those concrete boots have to come from somewhere.

I’m envisioning something like this:

Sopranos “no-work” jobs

“i pour concrete. i operate properties, i don’t do appraisals.” eric trump.

executive vps pour concrete?!?

ivanka is still fighting not to testify in court.

Eric Trump testified, at one point, that he had “never worked” on the Trump Org’s statement of financial condition.

Later, he was then shown an email sent to him by a Trump employee from 2013 telling him the employee needed information from Eric Trump to help put together his father’s statement of financial condition.

Asked by the AG again if he knew about the statement, Eric Trump said, “It appears that way.”

It’s remarkable how many people at the upper levels of Trump Org have testified that they have no recollection of how the financial statements were put together.

Must have been the Tooth Fairy doing the statements and leaving them under their pillows.

I suspect it was a self-powered Ouija board in the basement. The pointer thingy just wiggled around spitting out random digits. Of course by some amazing coincidence, the numbers came up very flattering to trumpco’s interests and not at all to anyone else’s.

Great Ouija board ya got there donny. Be a shame if something happened to it. Or to you.

It was a canary, Canary John Trump, as foretold in prophecy.

Judge Engeron rebukes Trump’s lawyers after they object to the court clerk passing notes to the judge.

Geez. It’s like Trumpco has never been in a courtroom before.

They’re just trying to practice law.

And by “practice”, I clearly mean “repeatedly perform an unfamiliar activity to increase one’s competence at it.”

The old saying is

Practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. Bad practice just makes more bad.

These bozos are getting really really good at being really really bad.

Ah, the old “some of my best friends children are female” defense.

In the trump clan, it seems that being too friendly with one’s female children is kinda de rigeur.

I assume – per usual – that the fish rots from the head: that Trump’s basic direction is something akin to “If you aren’t cheating, you aren’t trying.”

If we all recall Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing, there was something of a consensus that his performance was for an audience of one – Trump. I haven’t seen any reason to believe that his intemperance in that proceeding is his organic default stance.

I have to imagine it’s similar for these attorneys: the reality TV ‘star’ demands Jerry Springer-esque performances from them whenever possible.

As Trump’s entourage is always performing for him, I’m of the opinion that he – similarly – is always in campaign mode, doing his damnedest to solidify turnout (I think he has zero chance of increasing his support beyond 2020 levels).

Because – as others have said – I think “Win in 2024, and then figure out a workable pardon scenario, and … something something about Georgia” is all he’s got.

I can’t emphasize enough how utterly stupid and unproductive it is to start fights with the judge’s staff. That’s like going to a restaurant and making it a point to kick the maitre d.

They are the gatekeepers who make the courtroom run efficiently. You want something done, you should ask them. Pissing them off, or disrespecting them, is the quickest way I can think of to becoming a pariah in the profession (they other way is to represent trump, apparently).

Besides, judges have lots of cases they are handling, and that doesn’t stop just because they are in trial. There’s a lot of reasons why a clerk may be giving messages to a judge (which may not even pertain to the particulars of the case), and it’s is simply absurd to try to attach nefarious motives to the communications between a judge and his clerk.

He probably also once had sex with a woman.
