Yeah, I tried that too.
No luck on PEEPEE either, although that’s really for the best.

I think HALON is a brand name, for what it’s worth.
I used to think so, too, but I just checked M-W. It says “a hydrocarbon that contains esp. bromine”. Not capitalized and no indication it’s a trademark.
I’m seeing conflicting info on that myself.
I tried LYCRA, didn’t realize it’s a brand name.
And I would show off my Queen Bee badge, but Discourse won’t let me embed it.
I rarely have the time or patience to try for Queen Bee, but I like to get all the pangrams. That was a bit of a struggle today (June 6), but I eventually managed it.
My wife, OTOH, is satisfied just to get to genius, even if we don’t get all the pangrams. We work on each day’s puzzle together, on separate tablets, but logged into the same account.
I tried Cyrillic but it wasn’t accepted, probably because Cyril is a proper name.
I tried LATIN 2 days ago, but it wouldn’t take it either.
And I don’t always have the patience for Queen Bee, but I’m procrastinating on some onerous chores.
Nappy was allowed the first time it came along in 2018. I imagine Sam was besieged by emails from well-intentioned folks and instantly shit-canned it.
Can we talk about yesterday’s? I guess I should spoiler it.
If cyclically is a word and acyclic is a word, it should accept acyclically. And, what about cyclicality? I was annoyed.
Meanwhile, today it accepted ANYHOO. Not sure it should have…
Don’t mind me.
Because there’s no W?
I was just about to delete that post. None of those words have ever come up.
I came here to post that! Considering all the more legit words not on the list, that one surprised me.
And, according to the list, only 44% of users guessed it. The only word guessed by fewer users, at 40%, was PAPACY
There’s a small number of, shall we say, informal words accepted by the Bee. In addition to anyhoo, there’s:
dammit
dunno
gonna
gotta
helluva
hiya
kinda
wanna
woot
Both ‘attagirl’ and ‘attaboy’ are allowed, but ‘attaboy’ wasn’t accepted the first three times it cropped up. You just never know with Mr. Ezersky.
So today WIGWAG and WIGWAGGING were accepted? Really?
Speaking of, shall we say, informal words, why gimme but not lemme??
dunno.
I missed that first word when I compiled my list. And it turned out to be the last word I needed for a QB today. The only one I needed the hints to get, in fact.
