NYT Spelling Bee drives me crazy

No bract? (blurred in case it’s too close to an accepted word)

There are some fun words today, though.

Am I wrong in thinking that if HIED is acceptable, HIEING should be too?

Good lord today was a pain in the ass

We had guests today, but I got stuck early on & am going to have to go back to it. Three-vowel puzzles are sometimes a problem for me.

The E being mandatory takes a lot of the fun out of the ING

I was five points from Genius and was stuck so I just started fucking around with combinations and found to my delight that BACKCOMB is a word.

I was shocked how hard that -ING puzzle was. Usually, those are a romp to Genius or at least Amazing. And, was the -ence used at all (I don’t recall).

It was, though maybe not how you meant it - hence.

Haha! Yeah, that doesn’t count.

I think today’s puzzle has the same letters as Sunday. Not sure if I needed to blur that.

You should, since the pangram is the same.

Man I hate April Fools.

ETA On the other hand, I got to Genius fast enough to edit this post.

Well, obviously.

The joke was lost on me because Sunday was the first time in a long time that I was too busy even to look at the puzzle.

I accidentally tried GNOCCHI on Sunday and then completely forgot it today. :man_facepalming:

You’d think that, after a two year pandemic caused by a virus that jumped from animals to humans, they’d recognise the word ZOONOTIC, but nooooo

Or ZOOTIC.

Just what I came here to post :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Thursday. Well that was a thing.
