NYT Spelling Bee drives me crazy

I gave up, looked at the clues for the last three words and still didn’t know what they were. Is everyone else more familiar with beach architecture than I am?

Also:
Accepted - NONPOLAR
Not accepted: MONOPOLAR

I know the word parol from my professional life, but I’m really surprised Sam included it.

I knew what PALAPA meant but didn’t think of it until I looked at the hints. Never heard of PAROL before.

I’m surprised it doesn’t take monotonic today. Is that an obscure math term? Seems pretty normal to me. Finally got the large math term early today, though, so that was satisfying!

I was walking through the woods yesterday, encountering lianas left and right, and recalling how LIANA still isn’t accepted by the Bee folks (unless there was a recent change).

To me, it’s like not accepting TREE or BUSH. Sheesh!

Another mystery. MONOTONIC was acceptable 8 times, but it was unceremoniously dropped in 2024.

I am painfully aware of the negative racial connotation, but I will continue to enter COON any time it’s available.

There are two large math terms.

Three, actually!

Dear Sam,

Look at this, and tell me CARACAL isn’t an acceptable word:

LOOK AT THE BIG KITTY!

YOU TELL NELLY HERE SHE ISN’T WORTHY OF INCLUSION

Today’s list of perfectly cromulent words that aren’t accepted includes piratical and tartaric. But, they do accept piratic.

Especially since tapir is there. I feel like they are equally obscure (or not).

I’m disappointed CLIPART is not accepted. A perfect pangram.

I was so excited they actually allowed PRIAPIC that I almost…well, never mind.

I love the puzzle but not that much

Today’s was very easy, although it was easy to get wrapped around the axle with all the -ly, -ily words. Two pangrams!

Today’s Spelling Bee, with a pangram of pancaked didn’t include the words knap or knapped, though it seems a perfectly cromulent word.

I know what that word means, but it didn’t occur to me today. It was a very easy puzzle, what with all of the -ed words.

Yes, it was relatively easy. I achieved Queen Bee status in little time.

I’m impressed. I think I’ve only found that once. I usually can’t get much past the first level.
