Well Trump has already succeeded at the most common of these aspirational fantasies. Like most people who would “love to write a book” he really would “love to have written a book” without the actual writing.
Not going to lie, this makes me hopeful. It makes me think Trump knows he is in over his head, and is willing to let other people actually run the country. He just wants the prestige and honor of being president.
I greatly prefer that over a guy too dumb and narcissistic to understand that he doesn’t know what he is doing.
Of course now it makes Mike Pence the real president. That sucks.
I think Trump wants to be president the same way that people who play video games want to be in the navy seals. They want to rush into homes with guns blazing, and do adventurous stuff they associate with special forces. But the actual nuts and bolts of it that make up 99% of what people in special forces actually do (endless training, mind numbing repetition, being constantly uncomfortable, chronic stress and lack of sleep, briefings, long boring plane and car rides, etc). No thanks.
