Link. This is just for politics, right? He won’t really put the Church of Christ folks or the Baptists to running AIDS programs, right?
There’s already a thread about this in GD.
It’s not only harmless, it’s actually good. First understand that no money is specifically earmarked for faith-based programs, those programs are merely allowed to compete for those grants along with secular organizations. Any grants that are awarded to religious organizations only go to secular programs, and cannot be used for religious purposes. No proselytization or discrimination is allowed in administering the programs and the programs themselves are needed and serve a community good. The programs are also federally monitered and audited to be sure that the SOCAS safeguards are adhered to.
There’s nothimng to be alarmed about here. We’re talking about grants for things like food shelves and after-school programs, not evangelical crusades.
Thanks for the link.
Sorry. I meant to put one in and forgot.
I didn’t mean to be sarcastic or cynical, I was redirecting other posters.
Christ, I hate it when people who make rules and laws about me love Jesus.
