The “plan” isn’t noticeably different than Bushes. We already agreed to pull out as part of the SOFA agreements. And he’s not pulling all the troops out, he’s pulling the combat troops out. They’re already getting paired back as Iraqis take control of daily security functions. There will still be support troops left behind. Virtually nothing has changed with this announcement. There is no plan to abandon Iraq.
