I was in a KFC in Port Of Spain tonight and a group of young to mid teen boys were in front of me, they wasted a shit load of time ordering a bunch of chicken and then tried to pay in Obama $1 USD bills, LOL! The clerk didn’t buy the new US currency argument, then they tried selling the Obama bux to other customers for half face value($3TT each). I was really tired and now I’m kicking myself, fifty US cents for an Obama dollar seems like a good damn deal.
ik,r? Like back in the '90s there were gag $3 bills with Bill Clinton’s face on them, and pithy re-wordings of the mottoes typically printed on U.S. currency.
most of us were intelligent enough to treat them as the cheap jokes they were.
Yea the scam didn’t fool anyone, looking on ebay novelty fake Obama money costs way more than $1 USD each, so who knows where they got it.
(if anyone is curious US currency is widely almost universally accepted at retailers in T&T, Euros are less widely accepted but some places do. But it has to be real notes.)
