I keep reading #11 as “Nominate a goddamn ATF director!”. Isn’t this one of the perpetually-blocked appointments?
And yet you sent the NRA money. I’m sure the NRA are laughing too.

Is anyone else surprised that people like aceplace57 can’t find anything they *specifically *don’t like about the list of Executive Orders, but they’re still against it because of reasons like:
Yeah, me neither.
I’ve already heard this morning on FB that Obama has used gun control to push forward his evil Obamacare. It was alllll a trick, you see.
First they came for our guns, then they made us turn our heads and cough…
It is a standard question on my clinic’s history form (the one the patient fills out before he’s seen for the first time). The only time I ever even bring it up is if there are kids in the house.
I know that every gun owner on the SDMB and every gun owner that they know is completely knowledgeable and responsible when it comes to securing a firearm. But a rather astonishing number of gun owners keep the loaded pistol from their kids by cleverly hiding it in the bedside table, or simply threating to whoop little Jayden if he goes in Daddy’s Forbidden Closet of Mystery. And those are the ones who have even give it some thought. I think it’s important for someone to be giving such people a little info.
If someone leaves it blank, I don’t push it. And I’m sure one of these days when one of a patient’s kids shoots himself with the gun he didn’t tell me about, I’ll be sued for not discussing gun safety with him.
I intend no offense, but I believe that to be no more your business that whether or not a child car seat is used.
Then decline to answer it, but don’t get upset when someone points out there is no law against asking it.
Should my physician ask me that, I would be more inclined to point out that it is none of his Goddamned business and find another physician to take my money.
