I was trying to present my interpretation of the opinion underlying the public statements from the head of the Nobel Peace Prize committee. How many levels down the rabbit hole is that? No wonder it’s weird.

I’ll say again - even if Obama was terminally ill, there was in 2009 no reason to give him the Nobel Peace Prize. I don’t think there’s a good enough reason in 2011, although I find Qin’s argument interesting.
