If I heard that someone said something horribly inappropriate, for example, the c-word to his wife- I would disregard that as hearsay unless and until there was some sort of tape of it. I’m pretty sure that I’m on record here with that. And that’s at least as bad in terms of negative effect as the n-word would be.
Sigh. N-word, c-word, Now I feel like a five year old.
As a white male, I have a hard time getting all worked up about the epithet “whitey”. The brilliant “Word Association Test” sketch with Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase from Saturday Night Live proved that there really weren’t any derogatory terms for white people available to black people that had the same destructive power as the “N word” when used by white people against black people.
I fail to see what this is supposed to prove. How does Michelle Obama getting a makeover or talking about her life make the “whitey” allegation any more believable or any less asinine?
There is little arguing with a mindset that wishes to believe a certain way. For instance, I believe that Michell Obama is a stellar person and will be an asset to the Obama administration. Therefore I think the “whitey” stuff is ludicrous and I probably won’t be swayed on that until it is on YouTube for all to see. You just can’t argue with me!
