Obama VP

My prediction: Olympia Snow ® ME

What is yours?

General Wesley K. Clark.

Why would Obama choose a Republican? Or were you thinking of McCain’s VP?

Bill Richardson

Several people have been arguing for Jim Webb from Virginia or Sherrod Brown from Ohio. Both sound good to me…

Richardson would be the logical choice, although I would personally prefer Webb. Both would bring something to the party.

I’d go with Webb.

Richardson. There’s a push for Hillary, but I’m doubtful it’ll happen.

What about Jim Webb?

Damn grumble, grumble, grumble hampsters!

Webd it is ! Apparently others agree.

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (D-KS)
Just please no white military men in line behind the first black President with a Kennedy-esque platform. In the cabinet sure, just not as VP.

For Mccain, probably Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA).

eta: I guess I’m out numbered on the point, I just don’t want bad people to think that they have a some how ‘safer option’ behind Obama. Especially one that is a former Republican. That said I would love to see Webb in the Administration for sure. Richardson would be best served as Sec State.

Some one should not be considered because they are a white, military man? I’d vote for Clark for President, so i would certainly be happy to see him as VP.

That would be pretty awesome; he’s done a lot of good things for New Mexico.

There’s a running joke about how his suits don’t fit, and one of his ads in 2006 when he was up for reelection said, “His suits might not fit, but he sure fits New Mexico!” It was pretty funny, and must have been good, because I still remember it.

He’s promising to have a bi-partisan ncabinet and I think that may extend to the VP slot.

There’s no way the party is going to let him have a Republican vice president.

Richardson is my guess. I wouldn’t rule out Hillary either…it’s possible.

Evan Bayh.

Tim Kaine (Virginia’s governor) is another good bet.

It won’t be a Republican. The Senate is too close.

Obama can try to bridge the Black/Latino gap with Richardson.

I would have no problem voting for Clark or Webb, perhaps even Joe Sestak one day, to be President; I think they would make fine ones. Trust me, I hate that the thought even crosses my mind, but like some folks say that Cheney is Bush’s insurance, I don’t want someone nutjob to look at Obama’s VP and think ‘incentive’.

That said, I think Clark has tied himself to close to Clinton from the very outset of the campaigns to be a likely candidate for Obama’s VP. Webb is very likely. Sestak, speaking on C-Span, has put forward the most detailed, X’s and O’s type of Iraq withdrawl plan that I have seen or heard from anyone.

I personally would just really to see Gov. Sebelius. Her firm but soft-spoken tone is a nice contrast to Obama’s fiery prose. She is a very likable two term Governor from a redder than red Kansas, who won with overwhelming numbers. She is an outside of Washington, ‘new page’ type of politician. She has strongly stood up against the medical insurance industry as well as the coal industry for the benefit of the people and environment of Kansas. She was selected to give the Democratic rebuttal to the President’s State of the Union, and watching to see Fox News’ reaction after she spoke, Brit Hume looked scared and gobsmacked. While one might disagree with her on policy, unlike a certain other female candidate, she gives you nothing to dislike about her personally. She was on C-Span this weekend campaigning for Obama in Ohio.
Plus, with at least four to eight years of experience as VP, she is set up perfectly to go on to become the first woman PotUS.

I think Bill Richardson would be the best pick and perhaps be an important first step in bridging the historic gap between blacks and latinos.
