Obama vs. Fox

Publication dates? What are you smoking? If you publish cartoons about the Prophet, the only thing on the remainder table will be the cartoonist’s remains … but heck, what’s a few murders in the name of the Religion of Peace™, right?

No, no, intention - the correct response is
“It never happened, it doesn’t count, and it never happened anyway.”

But what about Oceana’s war with Eastasia? I’m on the edge of my fucking seat here!

How very Bushlike of you.

“Please, sir, hit me again!” The way to become irrelevant is to continue cringing before the MINORITY Iranians and watering down good policy because they want to stamp their widdle feets and cwy.

Ignoring Iranians at this point (at least until we get some sane ones) would be GOOD for the country.

I agree with you that the DOJ should spend time on major issues … which is why I am curious why the DOJ saw fit to waste their time intervening in a default judgement. Seems like they would have better work to do. Which is why their actions look very suspicious.

People don’t seem to understand that my main objection is not to the intimidation, although I don’t like that at all.

My objection is to the DOJ intervening in what you correctly see as a low level case, in order to overturn a default judgement against a couple of black guys. Whether that is corrupt or not, it looks corrupt.

Because of that, it is in the interest of the Democrats, not the Republicans but the Democrats, to clear the air. I don’t see why this is so controversial.

Political differences between political parties within the United States are not in any way the same thing as political differences between the United States and another country. Confronting the Republicans isn’t going to get tens of 1000s of troops unnecessarily killed or maimed.

Well, I didn’t expect the Spanish Inquisition…

I expected the Spanish Inquisition in the 16th century … but in the 21st century, not so much. The world moves on, and some religions move on with it.

And some don’t … so while the old testament calls for stoning, not many Baptists or Jews or Catholics are going for it these days. On the other hand, parts of the Islamic world, millions of people, are still into that good old-time religion, piling up stones and chopping off hands.

However, that’s a matter for another thread … but in the context of this thread, Obama’s support of the Islamic claim that it is fine to imprison people for “blasphemy” is definitely radical.

Obama supported no such thing. Quit making things up. Your credibility is thin enough as it is.

Whatever … “NO HE DIDN’T, NO HE DIDN’T, NO HE DIDN’T” is such a persuasive argument.

I already provided the cite that he didn’t.

Whatever …

I got to thinking … who watches Fox News? I mean, from reading the folks here and from what I’ve gleaned from the web, you’d think it was all Republicans, birthers, deathers, fundies, and freepers.

So I did some googling, and found the following in a poll from the Pew Research folks:

Don’t know about you, but I found it surprising that over half of the Fox viewers are either Democrats or independents. That’s kinda scary …

It’s not really all that surprising…contrary to popular belief there are conservative Democrats. The folks who watch Fox, IMHO (no study to back me up), are mainly conservatives and moderates with some conservative leanings, not simply Republicans.

At a guess, if you were to do a similar poll for any of the major broadcast or cable news organizations, you’d find similar numbers of Republican’s tuning in…even to places like NPR. My dad, for instance, watched mainly Fox, but he tunes into MSNBC and CBS occasionally, and even watches the Daily Show occasionally. I’m no big fan of Fox, personally, but I’ve watched it, and it’s not nearly as ridiculous as many 'dopers try to make it out to be. It’s ‘real’ news, contrary to the majority opinion in this thread. The commentary isn’t news, but it makes up only a fraction of their programming on any given day.

Turns out they didn’t have any WMDs, connection to 9/11 or Al Quaeda cells after all.

I’d guess that “Democrats” like intention watch Fox News

Btw, intention you still did not tell me why being forced to pay for health care is against the constitution, but being forced to pay taxes is not. Care for an answer?

No you didn’t.

Shodan

I don’t find that surprising at all. I sometimes watch Fox News, and sometimes listen to Rush Limbaugh. It doesn’t mean I endorse their views.

I guess you missed The Daily Show on… Monday, maybe? Clips of all the “non-entertainers” (ie., journalists) on Fox making obviously subjective comments.

I think the 16th Amedment might have something to do with that.

However, it’s irrelevant whether health care is not specifically mentioned in the Constitution. The Louisiana Purchase was clearly an extraconstitutional exercise of government power, but you don’t hear conservatives bashing Thomas Jefferson for it.

The fuck I didn’t.

A lot of those “independents” watching Fox are ultra-conservatives who just don’t want to call themselves Republicans. Just because someone calls themself independent doesn’t mean they’re centrist. Both Bill O’Reilly and Keith Olbermann call themselves independents, so that label tells you nothing about ideology.
