Obama's Birth Certificate Discrepancies

OK. Tell you what. I’ll accept your premises completely, and since I speak for all liberals, they will, too.

Now what? Why are you still fighting this battle? The dude’s second term is well underway. He’ll be out of office in a couple years. Even if you could somehow magically prove that the guy wasn’t born where he said he was, nothing’s going to change now. So what are you trying to accomplish by beating this particular horse?

My uneducated guess is partly to stop anyone born outside of the US becoming President (again, maybe). I think the ambiguity of Obama’s birth certificate is interesting; if it was falsified it was could’ve been done better, which surely means the person/s who did that wanted to leave open to debate the validity of whether those born outside the country are suitable for being employable in the US (or other countries).

Other than watching Obama’s inauguration live, working as an expat in a not entirely welcoming environment (the ME), and being a fan, I have no truck in this matter, so take my post at face value - an interested observer.

That’s the fascinating part. There is no ambiguity.

But the legions of people with fingers in ears saying “lalala, I can’t hear you” have distorted reality sufficiently that the question is even raised.

There is no ambiguity. There are a bunch of liars who lie like lying liars about Obama’s citizenship.

Two words: President Biden.

And for the most part there never was. The birther movement was almost entirely a reaction to the unequivocal proof that Obama was born in Hawaii. There were a few tiny little whispers that prompted the campaign to release the birth certificate (the first copy) in mid-2008, but they paled in comparison to what happened after it was released.

The name of the country on its postage stamps was:

  • Kenya and Uganda from 1922 to 1935.
  • Kenya Uganda Tanganyika from 1935 to 1963.

In 1963, on independence, it split into the three parts.

Incidentally, HM Queen Elizabeth became queen in 1952 while sleeping in a tree-house in Kenya.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Now wait a minute–how did she become Queen of England if she was in KENYA??!?!?

I demand to see the Long-Form Coronation Certificate!!!1!!1!

Being born outside the U.S. is not all that relevant: Obama’s main opponent in the 2008 election was born outside the U.S., in the Panama Canal Zone, which has never been part of the U.S. (He was eligible as a natural-born U.S. citizen because his parents were U.S. citizens.) What the Constitution does is stop naturalised U.S. citizens from being elected as President or Vice-President, even though they can hold almost every other office in the federal government.

A question that has been asked and answered many, many times. If you’re too lazy to do your own research before posting here, then it’s a stupid question.

Errr … because her father died while she was overseas. (She had her coronation more than a year later, in England.)

It really is simplest to just ignore any “facts” you get from sites like The Minority Report Blog. If we were in the Pit, I might say that anyone reading such a site is either a masochist; wants to pollute his mind; or went their for laughs, got distracted, forgot what site they were on and then just assumed it was one operated by sincere sapient humans.

BTW, my own daughter will never be allowed to head the John Birch Society (or whoever it is that operates Minority Blog), since there’s residue of Liquid Paper™ on her birth certificate. (“America” was written for father’s nationality; supervisor asked that this be changed to “American”; in Thai the final "a"s in those words uses different vowels.)

OK; now this one is true; we’ve been worried when it would catch up with the “Kenyan,” especially since the word “Altair” comes directly from Arabic, النسر الطائر . (The official cover story, which we may need now, is that Obama came from Krypton and can fly faster than a speeding bullet.)

On a more serious note, there is a reason why Obama is subjected to such blatant lying:

Obama is a Negro.

On a related note…

Sometimes people do actually have to prove their place and date of birth (there are lots of time when the government requires this information). Obama has provided 2 forms of birth certificates, a statement from the Director of Hawaii’s Department of Health verifying the birth certificate, and 2 local press announcements of his birth. In any US court of law, this would be overwhelming evidence of the place and time of someone’s birth. However, the birther nutjobs demand that Obama meet some super-duper and ever-changing extraordinary burden of proof that nobody in this country ever has to meet.

Secondly, Obama was placed on the ballot in 50 states for both the 2004 and 2008 elections. That means that 50 state secretaries verified his eligibility to run for President multiple times. The electoral college than ratified his eligibility in 2004 and 2008, and then the House of Representatives ratified his eligibility in 2004 and 2008 when they accepted the electoral college votes. In short, everyone who had the power to determine Obama’s eligibility to hold the office of the President of the United States decided that he was eligible. Some two-bit birther doesn’t get to override them just because they don’t like the idea of having Obama as their President.

My guess is this won’t ever go away, even after Obama leaves office. It’ll become another piece of nutlore like Ohio statehood and gold fringes; future loons will be proclaiming decades from now that laws they don’t like aren’t valid because Barack Obama wasn’t legally President.

Wooooshh…

and woosh.

I think that was my thoughts on this OP verbatim.

Everybody’s got to have a hobby. Some people have stupider hobbies than others.

For the rest of our natural lives. Bleah.

So, are people who were born by cesarean section eligible to become president? AFAIK, the only U.S. president to date who was is Bill Clinton; I remember that simply because the operation wouldn’t have been performed at the time unless the situation was dire. At the time of the Constitution’s framing, it was only one on dead women in the hopes of removing a live fetus, which rarely happened.

Okay, you’ve lost me on this one. What? If she was born a US citizen, then the report you, as her parent, filed at the US Embassy or Consulate generated another document, to wit: a Certificate of Citizenship. If she got naturalized after moving to the US, then she received a Certificate of Naturalization. If her birth was reported to the Thai governmet–presumably because they’re into recording births, deaths, marriages, divorces, and the like–then she can get an official document from the Thai government, said document being known as a certified certificate of birth (or words to that effect). Presumably none of those documents, what with everything being computerized nowadays even in Thailand, will have remnants of correction fluid on them.

I think you posted this from a different time zone. In the time zones covering much of the United States, those events happened in 2008 and 2012, I think.

Yeah, I made a mistake on the years. I was doing some research into the 2004 election today, and it’s stuck in my head, I think.
