Curiosity killed the erection.
I don’t have solution other than weight loss. As a side note your dilemma is enlightening in one aspect, I struggle with weight issues myself and I did not think hyper obese people (to the point of virtual immobility as in the OP) could live to 84 years old. You’ve got to be one in a million.
“FUPA” sounds like Noah sawing some wood down in the basement.
FUPA FUPA FUPA
“Noah.”
“Somebody call?”
FUPA FUPA FUPA
“NOAH!”
“Who is that?”
“It’s the Lord, Noah.”
“Riiiight. What do you want? I’ve been good.”
Surgery to correct mild FUPA- Youtube video - Not too horrific but some genital exposure so not SFW
I heard about a man who needed to be catheterized, but he was so obese, the nurses couldn’t find his penis.   They called in a urologist, who located it and inserted the catheter.
The urologist came equipped with a gynecological speculum.

I give up – what is “FUPA”? And is it *really * that common a term that can be dropped into a thread with no explanation?
Google is your friend.
Fat Upper Pubic Area.
Some people use a different, female specific word, instead of Pubic.
Here - surgery to remove FUPA fat post pregnancy. Some genital exposure while being operated on - not SFW -“Mons Pubis Reduction Surgery”

A most unfortunate, though completely SFW, acronym.
I don’t know.
From what I’ve seen, ISTM that many people take poorly to rapid massive weight loss. Even though all else being equal it’s better to weigh less than to be severely obese, the body is apparently shocked by the large weight loss, and can react poorly.
Especially in the case of a guy who is already 84. I would think it would be dangerous for a guy that age to lose enough weight for it to make a difference otherwise.
Just getting into a state where you’re burning fat tends to make one more mobile and energetic. It’s not dependent on losing large quantities of mass, it’s the process of emptying out some of the fat cells. That along with better muscle tone, and one may find the activities of daily living easier to manage in many subtle and not so subtle ways.
Pretty much this. Relatively few people who lose a lot of weight deliberately (ie non-disease related) are doing it via bed ridden or otherwise sedentary starvation diets or fat excising surgery. Most are exercising and controlling intake and are overall healthier. Having said this, no matter how much weight you lose, your lizard brain and body will fight you pretty much forever afterward and push you to regain the weight. It’s a life long war.
