I found this thing a while back. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is or where it came from, and hence, I do not know if I need to keep it. The other side is essentially flat with the rest of the screw poking through. I would say the screw is half and inch long. The disc about an inch and a half in diameter.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

EDIT: Sorry, link to image didn’t work. Trying to manage a substitute.

2nd EDIT: Let’s try this:

It’s packaging. I’ve only ever seen them used to hold those inexpensive 5-10 dollar wall clocks that take a single AA battery into their cardboard packaging. Usually they use 2 of these little things in that application. That’s why the screw will unscrew if you rotate the plastic disc in the direction the arrows point, it’s meant to be unscrewed from whatever it’s holding into the package and thrown away. Unless you can see yourself salvaging and using the shitty screw in the middle I’d throw it away.

I agree. It’s packaging and can be thrown away without worries!

Thanks. I kind of felt that was the case, but I’m normally pretty good about tossing that kind of stuff back in the box, so I was second-guessing myself.
