“Money can’t buy you love, but it can buy you a cadillac so you can drive around and look for it.” anyone out there can positively identify the originator of this gem??
(Richie Havens is in the back of my mind, and it would be a wonderful epitath.)
I find it on the Internet attributed to Lou Reed, but haven’t been able to find a cite yet.
I seem to recall David Lee Roth saying something like “Money can’t buy happiness but it does allow you to buy a big boat which allows you to sail right up beside happiness and wave.”
just to add a bit of info, my contact with it would be the back of an old record jacket around 1970
Attributed to Reed in 1977 by the Charleston News & Courier (now Post & Courier).
The actual quote is “money can’t buy you love but it can buy you a Cadillac so you can ride around and look for it.”
