How (if at all) can a private person get a diamond “graded” by the GIA? I’ve searched their website and either I’m just dense or perhaps only a professional can submit a stone.
Also, what approximately is the cost of obtaining a certification?

Someone may arrive with an answer before I receive a reply, but I’ve emailed your question to my brother, who is a jeweler.
Fiance that works with jewelers says that you need to take it to a jeweler to get it done. You have to have an association with GIA to get it certified by them.
