Ocean's Eleven

I apologize if I asked this question in this forum before, but I’ve never found an answer to this sequence that appeared in “Ocean’s Eleven”.

Security Guard 1: Is the place locked up?
Security Guard 2: Like tubes in July.

At least that’s how I heard it (and I’ve listened to that part several times, I skip the rest of the movie when I see it on cable as it’s pretty slow-moving in most sections.)

Does anyone have any idea what that means? Or did I incorrectly the hear the dialog?

Security Guard 1: Is the place locked up?
Security Guard 2: Like tubes in July.

correct dialog is:
Is the place knocked up?
Like tubes in Julie.

You see, no one ever gets to fire torpedoes in July, as all war movies take place in extreme winter weather conditions.
July’s just too balmy for that, or maybe it’s just too damn hot to fight.

Whatever, julies tubes are locked up, it’s just too damn hot to fuck, with anything.

What was this movie again?

      • WAIT!!! Forget the damn sub, tell us more about Julie! (any photos or movies of Julie’s tubes should be forwarded to me for further study) - MC

I haven’t seen this–is it an American or English film? Maybe it’s a joke about the London subways during tourist season.

It’s a rat pack (Sinatra & Co.) casino heist movie from the mid-sixties. A lot of the hip lingo back then would put Dennis Miller to shame. I’d love to hear the logic behind this little exchange.

This is the one and only rat pack movie I have seen…I LOVED it. I’ll be damned if I can remember what it is called. Someone please come up with the name…

You mean saw a Rat Pack film other than “Ocean’s Eleven”? There aren’t a lot. “Ocean’s Eleven” is the standard for that rather small genre.

Boy that hurt my brain.

Oh yeah, you mean the answer to my moronic question was in the thread subject line? Who the hell is gonna look there?

My god, I can be thickheaded sometimes.
