I’ve heard the term O’Clock over and over again and paid no attention to its origin. I would be
very interested in learning the history, where it came from, how it came to be, what it means exactly etc.
So if you would be kind enough to answer the question of where the term O’Clock comes from i would be
very greatful.

O’Clock is a contraction of “Of the clock” or “According to the clock”. It is defined thusly in the American Heritage Dictionary.
