Ariel does that too, though it’s not a regular occurrence. She probably doesn’t do it too often because I squee loudly when I catch her at it and interrupt her sleep.
OMG, they are long lost twins! Here is picture of my cat, Gryffin sacked out in his usual pose.
In other strange cat news, Gryffin’s favorite food is peanut butter.
Do you really want a woman whose idea of a good time is to be massaged while she chews on your bathtub?
My mom’s cat Chloe (no pictures as she’s not mine) likes to grab socks out of the laundry basket and wander around yowling. We thought for a while that she wanted to play with them, or be petted, or something normal like that, but as far as we can tell she just wants to make some noise with a sock in her mouth.
My cat (sorry no pics right now) is not a big purrer. She likes to be near but not close - if I’m sitting down reading she’ll hop up on the coffee table but won’t get near my lap. She sleeps on the bed with me but only right on my feet. She doesn’t like being picked up and scrootched.
However every morning when I get up and go to the bathroom she will run downstairs with me, start winding around my legs while I’m sitting on the toilet and purr up a happy little storm.
My Scout does that as well.
So cute!
Spotty McGotty does this too. It is very cute. He also likes his head “held” while he sleeps.
My husband’s cat does that with nerf balls. We have a tube of them in a net bag, and she drags these things around at night, yowling away. My cat, on the other hand, is completely normal. She doesn’t demand tub rubsies or get all blissed out licking plastic bags or anything like that.
Cleo loves donuts and sleeping on anything that smells like one of our horses. Jack will lie down and sleep in the tiniest patch of hay, even if it’s just a few pieces of the stuff. And Spike’s thing is to be rolled about and his tummy rubbed while you roll him back and forth.
My Little Guy (rest in peace) used to love Turkey Breast to the point that when I’d have it in the house, he’d be there instantly the moment the refrigerator opened. When I’d go to the family Thanksgiving, they knew I was taking it home for him. In his later years, I’d buy turkey breasts just to share with him.
He loved to stick his head in the shower and had no fear of water. Squirt bottles didn’t work with him.
Bertie (rest in peace) didn’t like any people food except the sausage off my Tombstone pizzas.
She could (and occasionally did) jump from the floor to the top of some false beams (about 6’5" off the ground) in one go. Because she liked hanging around at height.
Raido (current cat) likes beef jerky, dried apricots and crystalized papaya. Won’t touch any other people food or even canned cat food. It’s the three above and dry cat food, period.
She also likes to play fetch with an orange wiffle golf ball. But I can’t just throw it anywhere. I have to throw it down the stairs, bouncing it first off the wall opposite the top. Otherwise she won’t go after it.
Max got into the habit of bringing me presents in exchange for attention at a very young age (I’ve only managed to capture it with the camera once). I remember one morning when she was less than a year old finding two Nerf balls, my Catbert bean-bag toy and a Nerf bat all lying at my bedroom door. The bat is about the same length as she is, so it’s pretty hilarious when she lugs that thing around, but mostly these days she just brings me the two bags of Nerf balls. Little freak!
My beloved Mao liked mushrooms.
It’s been more than 3 years since I had to let her go, and I still miss her nearly every damn day.
Kitty K likes sitting on books. Her favorites are large coffee table volumes with scratchy fabric covers. Occasionally we will leave one on the floor for her perch.
Well, I have to say that Gryffin is very good looking! (:p)
She also likes to play fetch with little pieces of bread, and when she gets tired of running, she pushes them under the armchair (and then I have to go and retrieve them).
Lotta, our current oldest cat, likes tearing paper that’s left on the bed.
We’ve learned not to leave anythimng important on the bed – she’ll start tearing it into little pieces. This is relatively new behavior for her. She’ll grasp it with her front paws, then grab onto a protruding piece with her teeth and pull.
I give you Kee Kee the squirrel-cat, chillin’ out. She doesn’t do this as much since Ellie the Basset Hound came to live with us!
You guys are reminding me of the weird things my cat does. She likes to go into the cupboard in our coffee table and tear the papers in there (we don’t leave anything good in there). She’s got kind of a nest in there now - it’s her space. She comes and waves a paw in the general direction of the doors, and we let her in - she’s trained us very well.
Wow, she looks like my cat Lily!
Lily likes spaghetti sauce.
When I was growing up, we had a cat like that. She loooooooved those red-and-white starlight mints and would chase them around for a while (in their plastic wrapper) before picking them up and dropping them into her water bowl where they’d dissolve a bit into the water. We don’t know if she liked the mint flavor or the sweetness, but it was really funny.
 Check this out! I think we share the same cat (but I cleaned her nose)! She has some ‘splainin’ to do!
