Odd youtube comment question re: visibility to channel owner

Your blondebear comment went straight into the quarantine, flagged as ‘potentially inappropriate’, even though it doesn’t match any of the filter words I have added, and doesn’t contain any profanity. I would say that the algorithm has somehow identified/misidentified your account as problematic.

I have released the comment from the quarantine, in case that action helps restore your status in some way.

ETA: the bread alone comment was not flagged in any way and went straight to live.

Oh, also, even after I released the quarantined comment, I can’t see it in the combined comments feed in YouTube Studio - it also doesn’t show up if I search by one of the words that I know is in the comment; I can only see it if I go to the individual video and sort the comments by newest.

Hmmm…well that’s my answer I guess. The channel/account has apparently been flagged for some reason. I never got any notification, but I guess I wouldn’t if the algorithms decided I’m a spambot.

I don’t know if it’s worth the effort to ask the youtube folks for help.

I think this is one of those things where they have put some machine learning in control of the visibility of comments - I doubt anyone at YouTube would be able to even tell you what’s happening, assuming they wanted to.

I would suggest maybe going on a little binge of clicking the like button (when appropriate, of course), and maybe trying to post a few short, unambiguously positive comments from that account, but honestly I don’t know if that will really help. I think these things do tend to time out and return to normal after a while

Thanks for everyone’s input. I appreciate it.
