A Civil Defense geiger counter (Model CDV-715) I bought on ebay for a lark. It came with various manuals and 6 personal dosimeters (Model CDV-742). I’ve been using the gieger counter to check the background radiation in my apartment complex.
They all have the old Civil Defense logo, which I love. Why couldn’t they government have decided on “Civil Defense” instead of “Homeland Security” (which, as P.J. O’Rourke observed, sounds like a failed Midwest S&L firm)?
