The best weekend of my life was spent in Natchez although I have been several other times. I was invited to a Confederate ball along with several hundred other people in honor of a sorority sister of my wife.
Oh boy, I have no idea how much that weekend cost the parents but it had to be hundreds of thousands of dollars and no expense was spared for the guests for 2 1/2 days. I have always heard that Natchez was near the top of places with millionaires per capita in the U.S. and I can believe it. That place is beautiful and very genteel. That isn’t something most people associate with Mississippi but I would love to live their in one of their antebellum mansions.
