That’s just how he looks. He likes to hold one foot up while looking around. The damp appearance comes from being clutched by sticky, sweaty little kid hands (the dog also often snuffles at him wetly, so that might be a factor). If they leave him alone long enough, he grooms himself and looks fluffy and pretty until the next time they pick him up (average time: 3 minutes).
As for the duct tape, what? Sassy and Dire Wolf, do you mean to tell me that you don’t keep a roll of duct tape handy on the coffee table? You know, just in case?
