He’s so adorable
Is that Sarah J. Parker, his real life wife, packing the other CR-V when he walks by and says “You have great taste in automobiles”?
I spotted more eggs. As Matthew approaches the parade there’s a girl in the crowd in a white fringe jacket. Similar to Sloan’s (Mia Sara) in the movie. In slo mo the fringe can be seen fluttering in the wind.
Guy in museum with Bueller’s vest. he’s way in the background as Matthew is chased by the kids.
Still haven’t spotted either of these. Some of the eggs are very cleverly hidden in the commercial.
The rabbit foot keychain is visible when he’s first driving. It’s partly hidden but you can see it if you look.
Grace’s phone # is a Chicago number (312 area code).
A version with voice over commentary has been uploaded. I was hoping that it would have some behind-the-scenes stuff but it’s mostly Broderick (Honda) telling everyone not to hate on it just because it’s not a trailer for a sequel to FBDO.
Ferris had a chair with a horse like the one in the agent’s office, and I think the lamp by the window in the office was also in Ferris’ room.
I don’t see the commercial as an attempt to show Ferris Bueller as an adult at all. It’s not intended to be Ferris Bueller, the fictional character; it’s Matthew Broderick, the real-life actor, winking at the audience by thoroughly referencing one of his best-known roles. The character of Ferris Bueller is not being updated or shown to be grown-up at all. I thought it was well-done and entertaining, even if it in that in-joke referencing kind of way that can sometimes seem too cute.
I was wondering about the horse. Figured it had to be a reference.
Nailed it; an interview with the creators behind the ad confirmed this (also the fact they call him “Matthew” in the ad.)
Loved the whole Walrus close up. Coincidentally the original movie was on one of the cable channels a few weekends ago and I watched it for the first time in a while. Love that movie.
Yeah, that’s what I thought too.
I’m pretty sure that’s not Sarah Jessica Parker whom he compliments for her taste in vehicles.
What does the valet say to him when MB hands him his keys, just before the valet and the panda zoom off?
Look for this upcoming Inside Story: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off documentary. Interviews with many of the actors, behind the scenes videos, stories about how the movie was written and made. Very enjoyable for any fan of the movie.
Have a good night… (?)
