First thing Shepard Smith says in the post debate is to hit Trump on not explicitly saying he’d accept the election results. I’m glad that’s getting more notice.
MSNBC news crawl on the bottom “Trump: Such a nasty woman”
Maddow also puts notice on Trump’s refusal to say he’ll accept the results.
I think we know what the headline will be for the next few days.
I hated hearing the exact same bits from other debates (especially seemed to be something that Mrs. Clinton was good at doing), but Mr. Trump buried himself over and over again, IMO.
Great point by Chris MATTHEWS on post-debate. HC never lost sight of her target, women in the suburbs. Issue after issue, she said things that will resonate with them. She had a plan, and she stuck to it.
The weirdest visual for me was afree the end… Clinton went to shake Wallace’s hand while Trimp stood at his podium shuffling papers and looking smug. Felt very wrong to me.
I didn’t think he held his own at all (except maybe behind the podium). He reverted continually to his usual tiresome slogans and talking points from the campaign trail. He acts like a 5 year old who has to go wee wee. His pre-debate “tactics” counted for little more than his usual tawdry “showmanship.” His tantrum about how he will react when he is the loser was chilling.
Hillary’s restraint, not responding to his goading, made her look much more suited to the job. As pointed out, she also stuck close to speaking to her core supporters: Women.
Of course his supporters will spin that he “won,” but they’re the only ones who believe that. She gave him some good kicks and was coherent with actual policies. It will win the day for her.
