OFFICIAL Third Debate 10/19/16 Thread

Okay, it looks like the white = suffragette thing is mere speculation.

I’m sure she’d love the comparison though.

But the only *right *way to answer is along the lines of “It won’t come up because I’m going to win” - even if everyone in the room, including you, knows you aren’t.

Yeah, that’s sort of what I was getting at above.

Anything short of him winning will be seen as questionable.

My vision is Pottersville from It’s a Wonderful Life.

Well we’re safe because the Cubs would never win the… er,

Who do you think Biff was modeled on?

Your FACE is the projector! And I’ve walked behind her and I wasn’t impressed. Nasty, nasty woman.

Read Holidays In Hell, a collection of his Rolling Stone pieces from around the world. His report from the Philippines eviscerating the Marcos regime was wonderful.

Oh, Stephen Colbert explained what she’s going for. Deep Space 9 Pope. (vs. Kai)

George Bailey: “In the whole vast configuration of things I’d say you were nothing but a scurvy little spider.”

Mr. Potter: “No spider. No spider! You’re the spider. No, you’re the spider.”

WTF? She nailed it on the “open borders” talking point by the GOP. Look, just come out and say you won’t believe her no matter what she says because this is honestly embarrassing. She said it was about energy, it was about energy, period Here’s the Politifact point on this:

While Politifact seemingly doesn’t want to take her at her word, the actual content of what she said is clear to me. She’s speaking to a bank about a “common market”, in the same sentence right before “open borders”, she talks about open trade, which, if we’re still on the subject of the market, is OBVIOUSLY speaking not to immigration but to business and commerce. And the very next part of the sentence mentions energy, just as she explicitly said during the debate.

You don’t have to believe it, and god knows a lot of people are wrongly critical about Clinton, but to fair-minded people, she was talking not about open immigration borders, she was talking about open market borders for energy exactly as she explained.

You know the phrase “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire”? The reason why people believe the women who are accusing Donald of sexually assaulting women is not because they are Clinton supporters, its because Donald has talked about doing that exact same thing. He’s the smoke, they’re the fire. Meanwhile, as Politifact noted, Clinton has not advocated an open border immigration policy at all. Therefore, everyone should believe her when she says this is about energy markets and not immigration. There’s no smoke, there’s no fire

Dr. No?

Maybe the Academy will create a special one for him for his performance in the campaign. And present it to him on the evening of November 8, right before he mounts the podium to denounce the election results.

I want a shirt that says “I’m a nasty woman too.”

I’ve been meaning to ask. Did you used to be faithfool?

I happened to just hear a snippet of the “if I win” speech on the car radio, and it was something like “I have a major announcement for the people of the United States. [Hoots and cheers from the assembled rubes.] I will fully accept the results of this presidential election. If I win.”

I will be so, so, very glad to have heard the last of this pompous strutting blowhard when this election is over. I was sick and tired of hearing GWB back in 2000 but GWB is like an angelic choir and the voice of intellectual reason compared to this blithering, dangerous moron.

Yes, ma’am. Changed my name in an attempt to boost my outlook / new normal as I’m heading into the first anniversary of my husband’s passing. So far, it at least makes me smile a bit when I see it.

It makes me smile, too. Glad to see you taking some steps forward.

She gave her DNC acceptance speech in white, also, and some commentators speculated at the time that it was a shout-out to suffragette history.
