OG, I'm an IDIOT!

I am but a lowly Sentra driver and have electricly adjusted side mirrors but the housing holding the mirror does not fold in (to my knowledge).

Please, tell me more about these auto fold in mirrors/mirror housing.

Maybe PuditLisa’s got one of these babies.

I did this a couple years ago to my Honda Accord. It cost $200 to repair, if I recall correctly, and that was from the dealer, who had to order in the right color.

If it will make you feel better, I’ll tell you about a friend of mine who forgot to open the garage door and backed straight into it. Big ol’ dent in the door and scratched up the car’s rear end.

It actually was a friend, I swear. There’s no room for a car in my garage, silly! :stuck_out_tongue:

If there’s some kind of Backing Into Things competition going on here, I must present my best friend for consideration. He is currently citywide champion, and is looking to move into the regionals, so he certainly knows what he’s doing where this is concerned. To date, he has backed into:

  • 1 stone wall
  • 1 mailbox
  • 1 tree
  • 2 shrubs
  • 1 Roland Orzabal (this one was my fault, and it was kind of a joke, but it happened, so it counts)
  • 1 ditch
  • 1 creek

Don’t get me wrong, my friend is a fine driver…if he’s moving forward. But if you see a gold '93 Dodge Intrepid with its backup lights on, you just might want to get out of the way.

Alas, a Lamborghini would have no trouble fitting into my garage. It is with regret that I admit that this is I have the sexy powerhouse that I drive.

…and I regret that when I backed out of this thread, I knocked the “n” clean off of your user name. :smack:

Happens to the best of us. It’s actually not that expensive really, any part that comes from the OEM is going to cost out the ass because they have a monopoly. You might take a look around the local junkyards and see if you could find a replacement that way, but that requires the mechanical acumen and tools to take it off the junker and put it on your car (not to mention the luck to find an equivalent car, and if your mirrors are body color just forget it now).
