Could somebody please explain the Tower of Assumptions one to me? I usually get them, but this one has me baffled.
I think cuz the mage assumed the guy had a wife but he didn’t and so was able to end the illusion once he realized.
The illusionist just assumed that the hero had a wife so he included one in the illusion. But the illusion was broken when the hero remembered that he didn’t have one.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want to tangle with someone capable of fighting effectively with a metal flail hanging off his prince albert. That’s just asking for trouble.
I think it’s similar to the sequence started here in Order of the Stick. It’s an illusionist defense - you cast an illusion on somebody that they’ve won the fight and are enjoying the rewards. The vulnerability of the defense is people can spot mistakes in the illusion and realize it’s not real.
