There’s a new one there now.
I’m still seeing the talking vagina from last week.
Had to go to the previous story then two nexts for the new one.
They’ve been having server trouble on the website.
It didn’t hit the RSS feed until two hours ago.
And meh on the comic. Seems like a phoned in fantasy rather than the fun wackiness of the Oglaf universe.
I still can’t see the new one.
That doesn’t mean that I’m going to ask what an RSS feed is, though.
That’s okay, most people don’t need to know.
It’s a way for sites to push info to you, so you don’t have to keep visiting to check if it’s updated yet. RSS colloquially stands for “Really Simple Syndication”.
How does that do any good? It just takes me from checking the Oglaf site to checking the RSS, doesn’t it?
But the RSS is a long list of all the sites you visit, and only notifies you if there’s a change. For example, I glance at my Systray and the icon lights up when a new update has occurred, I check it, and there are 10 new articles from amongst the 50 or so sites I regularly visit. I can either read the articles immediately, in the app or by visiting each site, or use it as a watch-list, saving them for later in the day.
To reiterate, Bodilson’s Twitter page usually updates before the main Oglaf site.
I use blogspottr, which sends me an email. And I get instant notifications for email.
I do this with any webcomic that updates irregularly, so I don’t sit there checking it all the time.
No good. I only read my emails when someone calls me on the phone and tells me they sent me one.
Perhaps this week’s comic is addressing that.

I considered that. But noticing the problem doesn’t make this one any better.
I still get the old one about the bear’s birthday. I do admit it was good when I saw it the first time, but so have been all the comics since it went up, up to the last two.
The latest one is a bit better, but it’s kinda hard since I was in a bad mood when I first saw it. Still, objectively I can tell that it actually has a punchline.

This week’s was good for some chuckles.
This week’s Oglaf was actually pretty good. Last panel is gold.
It seems to me that they can’t really do good work without nudity. I’m not sure why they’ve been throwing out so many SFW versions, when I remembered exactly one before the current run–the one about the Eagles and Gandalf–and the real reason they didn’t use them in the LotR.
I don’t know that is entirely true; the fountain of doubt strip early on was genius and it was completely SFW.
But I agree that they do their best work when not SFW. I think they just have a keen eye for erotic cliché, and a talent for lampooning it.
Enjoyed today’s strip. I don’t know WTF the author/artists are on to come up with this off the wall shit, but it suits my sense of humour.
