Oglaf appreciation thread - very NSFW - hilarious pornographic webcomic

E…yeah. Urm…today’s entry, urm … Pinkeye. Th-That has kinda crossed a line for me. I probably won’t be going fondly back to that episode when clicking through the archives.

Humph. Everyone has a line. I went pretty far, I guess. Did a particular Oglaf comic cross a line for anyone else? You just saw it, didn’t like it, and decided just not to look at that one episode again? I’m looking for other examples that crossed the line for people, so I can look at that one and say, “No. For me, that one’s fine.” I’m looking for something that will give me re-affirmation of my freak flag here.

Ew.

I know, right? I was enjoying some other episodes where the woman is as clueless about sexuality as the stereotypical male. That’s a nice inversion. But um, Pinkeye. Urm. Just no. Didn’t need to see that drawing.

Still. I wouldn’t fault the artist for pushing the envelope as far as they want. Its something that they have to do, if they do anything at all.

But its still not an image I’m going to go hunting for.

When my shock dies down, I may return to it. But only as therapy. Shit that I’ve got to get used to, sort of thing.

As a straight male, the gay sex episodes, complete with lovingly rendered cocks, isn’t something I’m aroused by. Still, I could admire the humor, the effort into pushing the envelope, art for art’s sake.

It’s witty… It’s an amusing send-up of “extreme skepticism.” Hey, how do you know it won’t regenerate? Anyway, pain is all only an illusion…

It’s also an extrapolation on real-life acts that are painful and abusive, starting with mild spanking and then just getting worse and worse. Some people are actually turned on by being hurt…

But, yeah, “ew” says it well!

Yeah, could’ve skipped this one easily.

Urgh.

She’ll keep an eye out for him.

My reaction, verbatim.

Meh.
Everything is strange in this comic. What shall one do, write to the newspaper and ask them not to carry it? :dubious:

Well, it is an eyesore.

Like everything else, used to be a lot funnier…

And it will be funnier again, many times! That’s the advantage of the occasional stinker: nowhere to go but up!

But it still isn’t as good as it used to be, on a consistent basis. For one, they have way, way too many “Safe” pages.

In fact, I’ll say this: while I agree that this one was particularly gross, I didn’t really notice it being all that much of a low point. A lot of the comics are this disappointing. If I found out they were written by someone else, I would not be surprised.

I could almost have forgiven it, if there was a second page, where it was all a Sithrak dream, or she was a shapeshifter, or something. I don’t really need to forgive it, in fact, I can drop this. This one is just too gory for me, that’s all. It doesn’t need to be wound up in a non-threatening bow, or anything. I even enjoyed Hilting. But that was less gory. And there’s been other gore in this comic. Dunno. Its just where my line happens to be.

I still think its a quality comic. I understand that people get tired of things. Even novelty wears off. I used to really enjoy Schlock Mercenary. Then I got tired of it – it seemed too cerebral and slow. Then, after several years, I re-read old storylines. Fun nostalgia. Then I got back to the part where I’d quit – and it was good again. Weird.

I stopped watching Breaking Bad when I just didn’t have time for it. So I saw it during one of the “complete back-to-back series” days. And it was awesome. Relentlessly, tediously, awesome. Just so much awesome. Well, so what? How much perfect lines from Walt, played off against endless plot twists, can I handle? A finite amount, it appears.

Can I call 'em, or what? Today’s strip is five pages long, with a running gag, several sub-gags (the birthday party scene is hilarious!) and a punch-line. Plus, y’know, sex. One of the best offerings in a good while!

Vampire Doctor Babe is probably my favorite character, but this story didn’t really snap my stix.

Admittedly, it’s difficult to top her earlier line “Technically it’s not necrophilia if the guy was alive when the sex started.”

I chuckled. Its nice to see Felicia get medicine wrong again. Its always been pretty clear she’s just in it for the blood to feed on, but she keeps trying to slap together medical knowledge.

“It’s NEW!”

“Felicia” was the Potion of Girlfriend; the vampire is Navaan.

Gah. Thanks for the fill-in. Fortunately, with the correct name, the Oglaf wikia works better for me to fill in the story lines. God that was an odd one.
