Earlier this year I posted a screen capture from “Family Guy” that mentions felching. Now, in the Vertigo comic Transmetropolitan, a character asks another character what “felching” means. Of course, that comic is definitely NOT for children, the easily offended, or the faint of heart. I love it! If you haven’t read it and you are a fan of edgy comics, I strongly suggest you check it out. The early issues tend to be expensive, so look for the trade paperbacks which collect several issues at a reasonable price. That’s how I got into Preacher.
Into the off-beat comics, eh? Ever read “Battle-Pope”? Quite the funny comic, and a good user-name, to boot.
Who writes “Transmetropolitan”?
I’m just dipping my toes into the graphic novel pool (or cesspool, as my ma would likely say).
So far, all I’ve read is the Preacher series; “Weird Business”, a collection edited by Joe Lansdale; and “Predator: Kindred”, which was co-written by someone I actually know.
“Weird Business”, especially, is a revelation. Some of the artwork is absolutely stunning.
I believe it was Victor Hugo who said:
“Nothing, not even the armies of the night, can stop an idea whose time has come.”
I saw a reference to that in a TV show a few weeks ago. Meant to post it, but forgot.

Then “squick”, then “mung”, then THE WORLD!!!
Considering that Neil Giaman used the term ‘felching heck’ in The Sandman comic book in the third or fourth issue, it could be said that Vertigo is quite familiar with the term.
