Oh, hey, you remember those deadly flu samples? Funny story, that...

Oh, yeah, THOSE. By the way, we found 'em. All of 'em. Yeah, the missing one in Lebanon was at the airport. They’ve all either been destroyed by their respective laboratories or will be very soon.

Not that you’d know all that by looking at the headlines or anything. I spotted the blurb in the newspaper this morning on page 7, bottom left. I had to do a search for the Yahoo article, 'cause it wasn’t one of their top stories.

Y’know, when the news media creates a big scare story out of whole cloth, you’d think the least they could do is tell people when it’s over. Idealistic, I know…

Good to hear Jenaroph, I work about 3 minutes from the place those were sent from, it’s a bit scary to know I am in such close proximity to such fun stuff.

You see the same thing with potentially hazardous asteroids.

I guess “THERE IS NO DANGER. GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS” just doesn’t sell papers.

YOU’RE in close proximity? Our lab was one of the ones that received that stuff. It was sent to the department just down the hall from mine - I probably walked right past it several times, at least.
