OH! I just realized why Eyore from Winnie the Pooh is named that!

…and it only took me 28 years…

I’m 27. Why?

Share, please. What am I missing?

Phoenetic pronunciation of the name, in a harsh tone of voice, shall reveal all!

Boscha: You mean, his name is supposed to be like the sound a donkey makes?

Is that it?

Because if it is, I think I’m going to go bang my head repeatedly in to the wall. Can’t believe I didn’t get that one. D’OH!

Okay, I’ve said his name a bunch of times now, sometimes harshly, sometimes not so angrily, is it supposed to be he’s named after the donkey braying sound??? If that isn’t it, I’m just sounding angry for no reason, help!!!

Excuse me, I meant Bosda.

Nothing like cross posting to make one look even stupider than saying ‘Eyore’ a bunch of times like I’m ticked off at him!!

Is it the donkey sound then??

Remember that this is BRITISH pronunciation, so Eeyore sounds like Eeyaw, which sounds like hee-haw.

Yeah, it’s the noise he makes. Don’t feel bad, kiddies. Donkey’s sound, donkey’s *ss; what’s the big deal?

YEAH! It sounds like the sound donkeys make… EEEEAAAWWWWW.

I’ll tell ya in a year… when your old enough.

O.K., so what about the Winifred the Shitty bear?

It’s English, so maybe pooh doesn’t mean the same thing there and maybe Winnie isn’t short for Winifred. Is somebody gonna 'splain?

Well, now you know why he doesn’t wear pants!

A new hand starts work at a factory and is introduce to his co-workers,

This is John, this is Katy…and last of all this is Donkey.

The hand starts work and eventually gets round to talking to some of his new colleagues.

He gets round to the guy they call Donkey and says.
“I don’t want to be rude, but why does the boss call you Donkey”
and with a stutter comes the reply,
“Eeeyor, eeyor, eeyorlways calls me that”
