I have to back up Tom here. His early “The Tom Green Show” stuff was hilarious. His pranks on his parents were hysterical in a “oh thank God this man is not related to me in any way” kind of way.
Running around on a little league soccer game with a boombox playing “La Cucharacha” - also hilarious.
Riding a cow into a grocery store while wearing a police uniform, asking if they had any lettuce to feed the cow - hilarious.
Getting his friend loaded in the Bahamas, then waking him up at 6:00 am the next morning to take him to a trapeze lesson - pants-wettingly funny.
Once he got semi-famous and started trying to outdo his earlier stuff is where he went awry. That’s when the cow-sucking, moose-humping, feces-spreading started, and his career ended.
Pal, just think about how Drew Barrymore must feel.
Colin Quinn DID sorta get a bad rap when it comes to Weekend Update. I’m kinda biased against him, but he did some stuff that was funny. (Likewise, people tend to like Norm McDonald even though I can’t remember him ever telling a joke that was really funny.)
I’m not sure who Joel Stein is, but I kinda like widdershins’s idea (although I did enjoy Martin Short as Jiminy Glick for a while). Perhaps we can get a list going? I’d like to ship Regis Philbin out with them… that’d be suitable punishment for everyone, too.

He is in a 3-way tie for All-time Worst Ever Weekend Update amchor, along with Norm McDonald and Kevin Nealon.
He’s been targeted because he sucks donkey dick in terms of A) Talent and B) humor, which doesn’t leave much else.

Unfortunately for Green, he is neither funny, nor silly.

Colin Quinn: Only funny in brief moments on Weekend Update when he was making fun of himself and his own jokes because nobody laughed.
Tom Green: Only funny if he would be shown dying in the most bloody ways imaginable. Think of it as his greatest “gross-out” gag ever.
Pauly Shore: Only funny when you are a 10-year-old who spends 19 hours a day playing Nintendo.
I do think Tom Green was funny in his early years. Back when he was on local TV up in Ottawa.
The skit where he painted his parents house in plaid - ahaha, that was gold.
Joel Stein is an amazingly unfunny “columnist” for Time and Entertainment Weekly magazines. He finds any excuse to work in references to his interest in D&D and watching porn, no matter how little it relates to the subject of the column. Apparently his entire schtick is being a self-absorbed Gen X slacker with an expense account.
He turns up on TV occasionally on those VH-1 clip shows. like I Love the 80s or One Hit Wonders, as one of the “hip” commentators. He’s never funny and rarely says anything besides the obvious or “Oh, yeah, that’s the show where…” and gives a bland description. I saw him on a panel on CNN once about musical trends, where the most he had to say was when someone said that soul singer Jill Scott wasn’t the typical musical star in this video age was, “I think Jill Scott is good looking.” That’s as insightful as this waste of chromosomes gets.
I guess I should save my ire for a good Pit thread about the bastard instead of this hijack, but he should be the anchor on the proposed Ship Of The Damned Unfunny And Lame we seem to be putting together.

Seriously though, I enjoy toms gags. Did you ever see the slutmobile? He airbrushed a couple of lesbians on the hood of his fathers car. His father was mad and walked to the bus stop. Tom drives the car there and pulls up to the curb…How can you not see the humor in that?
Another…We’ve all seen the news reporters asking your everyday people about political candidates right? We’ll, being the typical idiot he is, Tom runs up and does some dumb shit or says something ridiculous and annoys the hell out of the people. I find that bit funnier than alot of comedy, especially black comedy that focuses on making fun of whitey at some point in the spew…
I’m not saying he is as good as whomever you all like in their prime, I just find it hard to believe there isn’t something you like about this nut…
