I surely can’t be the only one who assumed this was one of those threads where the OP talks about sending the distraught parents a message giving GPS coordinates for where they can find the remains.

Color me Clueless. What is FOC? (and does it come with a certificate I can show off to potential members?). Also, I went to a local t-shirt shop and had a couple of “SMDB - Fighting Ignorance Since 1973” front and back. Hope I don’t violate some copyright laws, just trying to recruit the unwary. I think I have at least a few tourists here asking about it. They were all from the Chicago area. Global expansion is difficult! `

There’s a new category called “Friend of Cecil.” I had hoped to be able to set this up so people could contribute anything they liked, but the system doesn’t work like that. So I came up with price points from [del]$10-$50[/del] NOW $1-$50 .
Right this minute Friends of Cecil don’t get anything tangible for their donation except our everlasting thanks. And a Custom Title if you like. (BUT as I get my hands on merchandise, yes, we would send you something for you contributions, so at most you’ll just have a bit of a wait while supply catches up to demand.) And you also get the satisfaction of knowing you helped make things go better around here and who can put a price tag on that?
I hope you check our paid subscription offers and use them often! The “Friend of Cecil” option can be used once a day every day.

“Once a day every day” got me thinking. I sell little bits and bobs on the InterWebs. I only take PayPal. I lose 3% on every sale.
Does the F.O.C. donation setup lose a similar small percentage in financial transaction handling?
Should I, in fact, be donating $ 1.03 every day?
I don’t know what vigorish PayPal puts on the Chicago Syn-Times but I guess we can chalk it up to the cost of doing business. I would think that everyone involved in this transaction takes a little bite.
