Except that everything that you describe that you claim that they have seen fits in perfectly with the damage having been done by scavengers. You have yet to explain exactly what evidence it is that makes them exclude scavengers. If they are basing their assessment on what you have described so far, then I have to conclude that these particular ranchers don’t know what the hell they are talking about.
We don’t need to know all there is to know, we merely need to know more than you do. And by that standard, almost everyone who has responded to this thread qualifies.
